People and Culture Data Analyst

We are working closely with a growing, fast-paced Retail organisation that is developing a long-term HR data and governance strategy which will improve the quality and security of people-related data available to stakeholders across their business, ultimately enabling better decision making and business outcomes.

Our client is looking for a People & Culture Data Analyst to join their growing HR team. This role will play a key role in identifying, collecting and migrating people data from a range of systems and sources, using the appropriate techniques and technologies to deliver data and reports from which colleagues in the people team, as well as wider business, can derive insight.

Key Responsibilities (non-exhaustive):

  • Building and developing reports and creating innovative ways to explain data trends and create engaging visual data presentations to meet the expectations of the People and Culture team and senior management.

  • Building their people reporting capability through a series of dashboards, combining data from disparate sources and translating it into reports providing meaningful business insights to share which will support business improvements  

  • Providing the analysis and recommendations from qualitative and quantitative data to support the achievement of their people goals and KPIs, supporting decision making with data and helping focus action planning with their overall mission to be an employer of choice.

  • Enabling them to measure and track data throughout the colleague lifecycle – from attraction through to offboarding

  • Provide detailed analyst that identifies trends, problems, explanations drawing through analysis conclusions and making recommendations

  • Building effective ways to measure people activity and its impact on business performance (ROI) – training, recruitment, engagement performance evaluations, pay and benefits, exit interviews, competitor activity etc

  • Increase capability and understanding of the team to become more data aware and start to rely on it to build strong strategies and reasoning

  • Using data analytics to scope, support and drive business transformation and change projects / programmes.

  • Develop and/or update Standard Operating Procedures / Process Maps to ensure that robust processes are in place

  • Manage the annual Gender Pay reporting and submission process, ensuring that data is validated, calculations are run in accordance with regulations, and that data is presented and interpreted meaningfully for its internal audience.

We're looking for people with the following experience:

  • Previous data analyst experience, able to demonstrate here you added value to the business

  • Knowledge and experience or a strong interest in People and Culture and the impact on business performance

  • Ability to data mine through variety of HR systems and business systems (SAP)

  • Excellent use of excel, databases, PowerPoint and other Microsoft products

  • Ability to translate complex data into meaningful and understandable information

  • Complete knowledge of data analysis techniques, tools, and software and knowledge of various statistical models, metrics, and KPIs.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Great interpersonal skills are needed to work hand-in-hand with People & Culture professionals and other stakeholders.

You will be experienced in creating reports and data visualisations and have a real passion for the interpretation and analysis of People/ HR data.
